The Blue Mosque blues

Currently blogging from hotel in Istanbul, which is right in front of the Grand Bazaar, talk about location, location, location...

Work is going fine, as planned, in fact better than expected. And apparently the wateva** wasnt that bad afterall. It's a hectic schedule, we have at least 2 meetings and a factory visit in a day.. and since Istanbul retires at 7pm, our working hours feels like forever. We even work on weekends on this trip!

Enough on the boring stuff.. now Istanbul.. so far it's been great minus the fact that I lost my purse during prayers in the very Blue Mosque. Still hasnt changed my perception on Istanbul though but my spending MUST change tremendously now since I lost a qtr of my allowance! I blame myself entirely cos I did not put the bag in front of me, but letak tepi which i can only observe during standing or rukuklah. Nampak sgt jarang2 sembahyang kat masjid, takde skill. I think it would have happen in Msia too.. cos u just cant trust ppl la nowadays, even in such holy place. But one thing worth noting, the locals are very helpful and attentive when they learnt that I've lost the purse, especially in their beloved landmark. I've got 2 young girls who offered to follow me around as translator, tourist police who accompanied us to the police station and even comforted me, and the policemen.. they're are so hospitable.. i mean they really take pity on you rather than start nagging or making fun on your carelessness..

Due to that mishap, we only manage to visit the Blue Mosque and skipped Hagya Sophia cos it was already close once the police report was settled. Next time la kot since our hotel pun just a nice half hour walk from there. Thursday pegi Bhosporus cruise. Then maybe tgk the traditional 'tarian perut' on friday. to make up for the weekend that we have lost here.. hahahaha.. excuses!

Food is 'still' great but damn expensive lah! Weather is the best.. I really love it.. but then again, it's only summer over here.. i think it's the best time to visit Istanbul anyway..

Oh well, more later. Going to Ankara this weekend, slight change of plan, which is oklah jugak.
hope to go Cappadocia but it's just wishfull thinking

Btw, called insurance, they cover my lost under the travel insurance policy.
My advice is, for those travelling, pls take the insurance.. it will help to keep u sane when things like this happen.. that's y I still can afford to be here... emotionally..
